This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") forms part of the Terms of Service. It applies to everything you do with AutomateSEO, including content generated by the AI agent on your instruction and content published automatically under rules you configure.
The short version: don't use AutomateSEO to deceive people, break the law, harm anyone, abuse the platforms you publish to, or attack our systems. You are responsible for what gets published from your account, whether a human pressed the button or an automation did.
1. Prohibited content
You must not use the Service to generate, store, publish or distribute content that:
Is unlawful or harmful
- breaches any applicable law or regulation;
- is defamatory, or makes false factual claims about an identifiable person or business;
- harasses, bullies, threatens or incites violence against anyone;
- promotes terrorism, violent extremism, or self-harm;
- sexualises children in any way, or constitutes child sexual abuse material;
- is pornographic or sexually explicit;
- promotes hatred or discrimination on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or any other protected characteristic.
Infringes rights
- infringes copyright, trade marks, database rights, design rights or patents;
- reproduces substantial portions of someone else's work without permission or a valid exception;
- discloses trade secrets or confidential information you are not entitled to disclose;
- uses a person's name, image, likeness or voice without their documented consent — this specifically includes generating avatar or spokesperson video of a real person you do not have permission to depict;
- passes off your business as someone else's.
Deceives
- impersonates a person, business or organisation, or falsely claims affiliation, endorsement or accreditation;
- fabricates reviews, testimonials, case studies, statistics, credentials or citations, or presents them as verified when they are not;
- constitutes a misleading commercial practice under the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations or equivalent law;
- makes health, medical, financial, legal or investment claims that are false, unsubstantiated, or made without the professional review required in your sector;
- constitutes a scam, phishing attempt, fake store, or fraudulent offering.
Is regulated and unqualified
- gives medical, legal, financial, tax or investment advice that is presented as professional advice without appropriate qualification, review and required disclaimers;
- promotes prescription medicines, controlled substances, weapons, gambling or other regulated products in breach of the rules governing their advertising in your market;
- targets children, or is designed to appeal primarily to children.
2. Prohibited SEO and publishing behaviour
The Service is built to produce genuinely useful content. Using it to manipulate search or AI systems risks your domains and ours.
You must not:
- operate private blog networks, link farms, or link schemes designed to manipulate rankings;
- publish doorway pages, or mass-generate near-duplicate pages targeting minor keyword variants with no independent value;
- publish content to domains you do not own or are not authorised to publish to;
- buy or sell links that pass ranking signals without disclosure, in breach of search engine guidelines;
- engage in parasite SEO — publishing on a third party's high-authority domain in breach of that domain's rules;
- cloak — show different content to search crawlers than to human visitors;
- scrape and republish third-party content at scale, with or without paraphrasing;
- generate content at volume with the primary purpose of manipulating search rankings rather than helping readers;
- use the Service to send unsolicited bulk email, or to publish content that breaches the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations or the CAN-SPAM Act.
Why this matters to you. Search engines penalise these practices, and the penalty lands on your domain, not ours. We may also be required to act by the platforms we integrate with.
3. Platform and system integrity
You must not:
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, other customers' accounts or data, or any connected system;
- probe, scan or test the vulnerability of our systems without our prior written permission (see section 6 for how to report a genuine finding);
- circumvent, disable or interfere with authentication, rate limits, credit deduction, usage caps or access controls;
- create multiple accounts to obtain additional free credits, extend a trial, or evade a suspension or refund limit;
- share, resell or sublicense your account access, except through the workspace and collaborator features we provide;
- use automated means to access the Service other than the APIs and integrations we provide;
- reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to extract the source code, prompts, workflows or model configuration of the Service;
- use the Service, or its outputs, to build, train or improve a competing AI or content generation product;
- introduce malware, or use the Service to distribute it;
- send excessive traffic, or use the Service in a way that degrades it for others;
- point a custom webhook at a third party's endpoint without their authorisation.
4. Third-party platform rules
When you publish through the Service to GitHub, WordPress, Facebook, Instagram, Threads, LinkedIn, Google Business Profile, YouTube or any other platform, that platform's rules apply in full. You must not use the Service to breach them — including their rules on automation, posting frequency, disclosure of AI-generated content, or content standards.
If a platform suspends your account or removes your content, that is between you and them. We cannot restore it and we are not liable for it.
5. Your responsibility for automated publishing
The Service can publish without you approving each item. If you enable that:
- you are responsible for everything published, exactly as if you had written and posted it yourself;
- you must configure the automation rules with care, and review them when your business changes;
- you must monitor what actually gets published;
- "the AI wrote it" is not a defence to a defamation claim, an advertising complaint, or a regulatory investigation.
We strongly recommend keeping human approval enabled on any property where an incorrect post would cause you real harm — particularly regulated sectors and anything published under a named individual's byline.
6. Reporting
Report abuse — content produced by AutomateSEO that breaches this policy: abuse@automateseo.app
Report a security vulnerability — security@automateseo.app. We welcome good-faith security research. If you report a genuine vulnerability privately, give us a reasonable time to fix it, and do not access, modify or exfiltrate other people's data, we will not pursue legal action against you.
Report a copyright infringement — legal@automateseo.app, with enough detail to identify the work, the infringing material, your contact details, and a statement that you are the rights holder or authorised to act for them.
7. Enforcement
If we believe this policy has been breached we may, proportionately to the seriousness:
- ask you to fix it;
- remove or disable access to specific content;
- disable specific features, or apply rate limits;
- suspend the account;
- terminate the account and forfeit remaining credits;
- report the matter to law enforcement or a regulator where required or where there is a risk of serious harm.
Where the breach is capable of being remedied and does not create immediate risk of harm, we will normally give you notice and an opportunity to fix it first. For content involving child sexual abuse material, credible threats of violence, or active fraud, we will act immediately and without notice.
Appeals. If you believe we have acted wrongly, email legal@automateseo.app. We will review the decision, respond within 10 business days, and reinstate access if we got it wrong.
8. We do not monitor everything
We do not pre-screen content generated on the platform, and we are not obliged to. The Service applies automated safety filtering at the model layer, and we investigate reports we receive. The absence of intervention does not mean we have approved anything.
9. Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be notified at least 30 days in advance by email or in-app, except where a change is needed immediately to address unlawful activity or a serious risk of harm.
